Christmas Display Decisions

The holiday season, it seems, is when my family always makes momentous decisions. We have to decide:

We all have our opinions on these options, which usually results in difficulty arriving at a unanimous decision. There is, however, one point on which we can all reach an agreement. We strive to make our Christmas display more grandiose every year.

There's a reason we can all cooperate on this one concern. The local neighborhood home owners association puts on a colossal contest each season. The winner of the best holiday display creation gets a grand prize of five hundred dollars. Because the competition gets serious, we have to show some real creativity when unveiling our Christmas display. Standard off-the-shelf decorations and so-so scenes don't stand a chance of winning.

We all search high and low for lights, animated figures and other props that nobody else in the neighborhood is likely to find that year. The reality is, that patronizing our local mall for the Christmas display paraphernalia is out of the question—we now shop exclusively online.

In fact, the secret to our success is shopping for our Christmas display products on the Web. There are three benefits to buying online:

1. Websites offer their holiday wares all year round, so we can beat our neighbors to the punch. Our Christmas display plan begins in October when we start monitoring our favorite Christmas websites for new and exciting items. When we see stuff that will compliment our current Christmas display plan, we quickly (and quietly) buy it.

2. Purchasing Christmas display products online provides us with a much broader selection of products from which to choose. Also, we can buy yard decorations from all over the country or…the world. Several of our favorite Christmas displays from past years have actually included scenes of traditional celebrations from abroad. We could only have achieved this by obtaining authentic decorations from other countries. We were the first ones on the block to think of this.

3. Collecting our Christmas display creations from items bought on the Web saves us money. Online stores usually have lower prices than you'll pay at your mall. I mean really, it would not make much sense to win the contest if we wind up spending more than 500 dollars to get there.

If you're as determined to have the best Christmas display as we are, then you should shop online and take advantage of the deep discounts on holiday decorations.
