Christmas Tree Lights

There aren't many things that are more glorious than glowing Christmas tree lights. I like the way they light up the room. The soft, warm glow of the colored lights adorn the walls, and white lights look pretty and pristine.

Each season I like to sit by the tree with a warm cup of eggnog or hot chocolate admiring the beauty of the Christmas tree lights. We have several strings of lights for the tree. Some sets twinkle, some stay on, while others fade on and off, some have colors and some are white. All are bright.

Although we enjoy all of them, we like to use a different string of Christmas tree lights every year. Each year when we get a snowfall, I like to dowse the lights in my house except…the Christmas tree lights, of course. I then venture outside to see how the colored lights reflect off the newly glistening snow.

Christmas Tree Lights Entanglement

One potential problem with having several Christmas light strings is storing them neatly. If, every year, you dig out your holiday light strings only to find them tied up in knots of tangled wires, I've invented a way of preventing this.

First, take a discarded wrapping paper tube from a used up roll and wind the lights around it. Then, use tape or rubber bands to secure the ends of the light string to the roll. I haven't had any seriously snarled Christmas tree lights since I've employed this exercise in neatness.

Burnt-Out Christmas Tree Lights

Another aggravator is, that one burnt-out bulb that you just can not find. There isn't anything much more exasperating than plugging in your Christmas tree lights and finding them 'dead'. Now you have to commence the cumbersome task of finding a single bulb that is preventing the entire set from lighting-up. So, when I discovered that they offer Christmas light testers, I had to buy one.

Even though the tester only saves us a short amount of time when checking our holiday lights, it's definitely faster that doing it with a burnt out bulb—oops. Despite the trifle troubles, seeing the beautiful, and sparkly Christmas tree lights aglitter, is well worth it.

Oh yeah, here's where to find the best selection of Christmas tree lights (and all other holiday lights, for that matter).
