Do you sing jingle bells during the holidays? I know! Who could ever get sick of that tune? It´s a timeless classic. Your mother probably sang it to you when you were still a rug rat. Am I right or what? Well, my parents both sang that tune over and over to me. Anyway, as I´m sure you know, the most wonderful time of year—Christmas time—is almost here. It may seem like we just did the holiday thing, but Christmas is here once more. Time flies when you´re having fun. So, what are you doing for this wondrous and merry Christmas season? Are you staying at home and decking it out with lights, props and a nativity scene? That sounds like fun. Maybe you´ll finally beat that competitive neighbor´s awesome array. Okay, now for the serious stuff; are you going to use an artificial Christmas tree or the real thing?
When it comes time to decorate for Christmas, the tree is always a big deal. Do you know the reason why we place a decorated tree in our living rooms? Guess what, it has nothing to do with Christianity as I´m sure, many people assume. In fact, the tradition may even date back to the pagan era. My vote goes to the artificial Christmas tree. OK, I know what you are thinking. With my enthusiasm for Christmas, how could I prefer an artificial Christmas tree over an authentic one. Well, it boils down to four factors:
- You don´t have to go out and pay some exorbitant price for a tree that´s going to die anyway.
- You don´t have to clean up all those needles when you have an artificial Christmas tree.
- You don´t have to worry about disposing the tree after Christmas is over.
- An artificial Christmas tree is much less likely to catch on fire. Did you think of that one?
